Diet Plans for Teenage Girls

Are you a teen age girl or do you know someone who is in need of losing weight? Have you seen the Medifast ads on television and wondered “Is this Medifast diet good for teens? Can I as a teenage girl, use it to lose weight?”
You’d be glad to know that Medifast is good for teenage girls too. However, you must look over the diet program for teens as it is a lot different from the adult’s.
Difference of Adult Diet and Teenage Diet
On the adult diet program, they employ the 5 and 1 meal plan. With this, they are required to eat five Medifast meals a day as well as an extra meal they’ve called as the “Lean and Green” meal. This meal is the only non-Medifast food you are allowed to take and your portions are limited to fresh vegetables and lean protein.
However for the teen plans, a lot more regular food is included and the number of Medifast products eaten throughout the day is cut back. The teens only take in three Medifast meals instead of five.
The Medifast Diet Plans
The Medifast diet plans for teenage girls include fruits, whole grains and dairy products because teenagers have different nutritional needs than adults. Their bodies are ever growing and changing that’s why they need to be supplied with the right amount of nutrition.
But of course, like the adult diet plans, the teen plans also have lean protein such as meatless proteins (beans and tofu), lean meats and fresh vegetables. There are five servings of fruits and vegetables in the diet. Also, diet plans for teenage girls and boys have a few differences. The boy’s diet plans have more quantities of fats and whole grains.
Exercise and Other Activities Must Be Considered
The Medifast diet plan can be a big aspect in a teen’s lifestyle change. There are so many tips for eating healthily and how to include better meals in a teenager’s day. Exercise and any kind of sports activity is also recommended and encouraged. The usual recommended duration for an exercise is an hour a day, but for sedentary teen, they can start by adding 30 minutes of exercise for about three to four times a week.
