How to Lose That Weight After Pregnancy

So you just gave birth to a stunning baby boy or girl, how exciting! Motherhood is an exciting and full filling time in your life. One of the main concerns new mothers have (asides from the new baby) is how they can lose all the weight they’ve gained during their pregnancy. As a new mother, I’m quite positive that you would want to spend your time with your new bundle of joy than having to go to the gym to work off that baby weight.

It can be really difficult, once having a baby to lose pregnancy weight. You don’t have to sacrifice your time with your new son or daughter to get back into shape. Follow this easy tips to lose pregnancy weight AND be there for your new child.

First things first, you need to watch what you eat. During pregnancy and post pregnancy your body is going through several hormonal stages. You will see some changes in your body after childbirth because your hormone levels are trying to get back to the way they were. Due to hormone changes, you will start to have all these food cravings. Since your not pregnant, you can’t use the excuse your eating for two anymore. You  need to keep your sugar levels in your body stabilize if you want to control your cravings. Eat small meals and frequently as the day goes by. You are more likely to lose weight if you eat five to six small meals a day instead of the usual 3 large meals we are all so accustomed to.

Second,not only is breast feeding good for your baby, it’s also good for you! You can lose more weight if you breast feed.  There really is a good reason to to why you gain weight during your pregnancy. When you breast feed, your body lactates and you need that extra fat. If you breast feed, you can lose up to 500-700 calories a day. Breast feeding is a great way to bond with your child and the best way to burn calories.

Third, you can lose pregnancy fat and spend quality time with your baby just by taking a walk around the neighborhood. Your neighbors and friends are probably all dying to see your new baby, so instead of having them come to visit you, why not get some exercise and put your child in a stroller and walk all over the neighborhood to show him or her off. Instead of having your friends and neighbors come over, put your baby in the stroller and go for a walk around the block to meet the neighborhood . Walking is a quick exercise for weight loss, it might also help with the stress in being a new mother too.

Try to remember you  don’t have to rush to lose pregnancy fat fast. Having a baby takes a big toll on your body, try to pace losing weight. Lose weight the safe and natural way. For your baby’s sake, lose weight healthy and naturally. Be patient and soon you will lose that pregnancy fat and be able to fit in your little black dress again.
